OCT 2005FOR
IMMEDIATE RELEASE
October
17, 2005, Los Angeles, California-The Urban Fashion Week is proud to
announce the great success of our event in beautiful Miami, Florida. The
event was set in motion in South Beach on Thursday October 6 hosted at
the luxurious penthouse suite of the Nash Hotel. The early part of the
evening gave our top male and female models a chance for beguiling and
distinguishing photo opts. Later in the evening we jammed to Miami's own
DJ NVOUS Styles at the intimate, very cozy Ultra Lounge, off of Hwy 1
Biscayne Blvd., Miami to the early morning.
Friday night’s extravaganza was hosted by Billy Bad Ass and
Miami own hip hop artist Jackie O, with her super sexy panache, she kept
the crowd popping and animated all the way to the finish. Initially we
had planned for two shows going on simultaneously with an elite outdoor
spot light, the weather conditions changed these plans but the show and
the partying went on as scheduled with 45 flawless models that gave a
clinic on what walking a runway is all about. Friday's show featured the
exiting, refreshing clothing lines from premiere designers Meezan, Rosita
Hurtadon, Jazzy Unique Body and Billy Bad Ass to name a few.
The after party at Teaser had a very eclectic vibe and special guest
Rsvping ....Missy Elliot and the whole Slip and Slide crew ( shout outs).
The patrons consisted of a cool fusion of people returning from Thursday’s
night event and many of the trendiest partygoers from the South Beach
scene.
Toccara from America’s Next Top Model exclusively hosted
Saturday’s night party, she also took her turn strutting down the runway,
not once but twice showing the other models she still had what it takes.
Rosita Hurtado took the limelight this evening with her superlative red
carpet dress. We closed the night with one of many standing ovations. Many
debated that the second night was even stronger than the first night; I
guess you had to be there! Behind the scenes everything moved at a hectic
pace, even UPS added to the chaos by delivering some over-night deliveries
to the wrong venue, had us asking, "What had Brown done to us?" All the
models, designers, our special Guest and friends from the show came out
to "pop bottles" and celebrate the first official Miami Urban Fashion
Week.
We now look forward to the March installment of Urban
Fashion Week- Miami to be more pompous and exhilarating than our fall
review. Please come to
http://www.theurbanfashionweek.com/ to see
the various faces of elation of the models and guest (pictures launched on
Oct 19th, link below) . We had so much fun words can hardly describe the emotions
felt. A little note to the many haters who did everything in there power,
drunk on "haterade", to put a damper on this event, thanks for all the
"drama", Fredrick Douglas inspired me to believe that "without struggle
there is no progress". Remember next time "things which matter most must
never be at the mercy of things which matter least" Thanks to Danielle
Photography for all those hot shots featured on the website, the stylist
at All Dolled Up Salons you guys did your thing, Black Star Security
thanks for holding me down gentlemen, George Duke from the Opium Group for
consulting me through the city, all the dazzling models for all the
support, friends, family, colleagues and staff. I love y’all.
